As of 1 March 2019, Act No. 54/2019 Coll. on the protection of whistleblowers and amending certain laws (hereinafter referred to as the “Act“) entered into force, which was aligned with the Company’s internal regulation as of October 1, 2019.
The Act defines the subject matter, which is the creation of legal and institutional conditions for the protection of the natural person who contributed to the detection of whistleblowing. In addition, the Act regulates the obligations of employers in receiving and reviewing reports of unlawful activities and the protection of employees if they would be penalized in connection with the whistleblowing.
Pursuant to this Act, an employer employing at least 50 employees is obliged to create an internal system in which he/she teaches details of filing reports, verifying reports and the responsible person or special organizational unit to which it will be possible to contact with filing a report. The designation of the responsible person and the means of lodging reports shall be made public and accessible to all staff in the usual and commonly available manner, with at least one means of lodging complaints being accessible 24 hours a day.
Marius Pedersen, a.s. fulfilled these obligations and tasks by acquainting all employees with the required information through an internal document and its publication on the intranet website and at the same time in writing at a place (at the registered office of individual branches of the company) accessible to all employees.
The designated responsible person is Ing. Katarína Machálková performing the position of personnel manager with the employer and for the area of handling submitted reports under the Act is directly subordinate to the statutory body, i.e. Board of Directors and follow their instructions.
